A unique program, HealthShare makes it possible for small businesses to offer affordable health coverage to employees through:

An emphasis on prevention and wellness
This program offers incentives that encourage primary care, prevention and healthy behaviors in an attempt to reduce emergency room visits and hospitalizations. Employees who choose to participate in the Wellness Option benefit from lower monthly payments and copays.

Cost-effective copays for specialized care
Careful consideration was given to which types of care would be offered an at what copay amount in order to provide a program that would be appropriate and still affordable for the majority of people.

A network of local providers
As a member of HealthShare, you are able to utilize the services of participating providers located in Duluth. Since this is a community-based program, out-of-area services are not covered.

Utilizing existing health care options
HealthShare takes full advantage of existing health care options and enrolls members in state and local programs for which they are eligible. For example, if an applicant is eligible for the state Medical Assistance program, HealthShare will provide assistance in accessing that program.
